The Chemistry of Colour – Oil painting with Leonie Gibbs, November 6 -7 2017

Join us for a dynamic two day painting course with Scottish artist Leonie Gibbs.  This is an adventure into the world of colour, suitable for any one with an eager mind to create. Over two days Leonie will guide students through the techniques of oil painting, liberating inhibitions to produce creative and exciting results. Paintings will be done on board provided by us and under Leonie’s supervision you will take home a completed painting each day

The course will cover landscape and still-life painting.  Leonie is no stranger to inclement weather and the autumn foliage will provide a wealth of colour to explore.  With her energy and zest for life, Leonie is a truly inspiring  teacher who will generously share her knowledge with the more experienced while encouraging those who are longing to take the plunge.

A well known painter and sculptress, Leonie  lives in the Scottish Highlands.  Her painting is inspired by the Scottish colourists as well as by the myths and legends of the ancient Picts and Celts.  Her monumental bronze the Pictish Queen is currently on display in the gallery.  She has completed numerous public commissions,  her majestic work the Falcon’s Return stands in the centre of Inverness.  She has exhibited throughout the UK.
