Botanical Painting with Mariella Baldwin 19th & 20th October 2017

Autumn Hedgerows – Suitable for Beginners

Autumn is a wonderful season, hedgerows are bursting with rosehips, berries, fruits and nuts, woven together with thorns and prickles . . . all of which make excellent subjects to study.  To complement our landscape exhibitions we have invited botanical artist Mariella Baldwin to run a workshop focusing on the British hedgerow, ubiquitous to the Sussex countryside. This will be an opportunity to move from the bigger landscape picture to examine the hedgerow in closer detail.

The course is open to all –  especially beginners.   Mariella will teach a step-by-step process to create a good foundation from which the individual can then build. Beginners will learn the techniques to create a painting so that the subject looks as if it could be plucked from the page. The more experienced will be able to practice and hone their skills. This is a small goup so every one will have plenty of individual attention and the opportunity to learn from a truly accomplished artist.

Course dates: Thursday 19th and Friday 20th October    9.30 to 4.0 pm

Price: £175 per person
